Open farm Sunday

Hello you!

Yesterday was national open farm Sunday! Did you know that was a thing? I didn’t!

We headed to Uncle Henry’s farm to see what was going on and meet with some friends who are celebrating their two-year-old’s birthday. We all had an amazing time!

We got to stroke some animals, see some farm machinery, go on a tractor tour and so on! We also watched a birds of prey display and buy loads of lovely local produce. There was a dog display too but we had to leave before that started as we had lunch plans with my in laws!

It was such a fun day out and so much thought and effort had been put into it. On entrance E was given some cress seeds to grow, an activity pack, a balloon, LOTS of stickers and loads of information. There was a farm quiz and loads of entertainment around. It was all free!* I am sure we can all agree if it’s a free and fun then it’s worth it with a toddler!!

E loved chatting to the Farmers and everyone we came across was happy act along about being a ‘real life farmer’ (which they of course were) To a 2 year old a farmer is practically a celebrity and they all played their role well!

I didn’t realise this was a national event until we were driving to our destination past other farms who were also hosting open days.

Next year it’s the 11th June 2017 and we will be going again. We may even do two farms!

Lots of love

A xx
